Montgomery’s Inn Farmers’ Market, October 21, 2020 (2-6)

The market continues outdoors for two more weeks, but then what happens?

Well, do you remember what last year’s indoor market looked like? This picture of Barb from Happy Bakers in the tavern may refresh your memory: Shoppers browsed though a series of small historic rooms within the museum.

As you can imagine, small rooms are a no-no for physical distancing and historic spaces present big difficulties for disinfection.

So although the indoor market won’t look the same as it used to, we are forging ahead with a plan for allowing a limited numbers of shoppers and vendors inside the building for in-person shopping every Wednesday this winter.

The in-person market will be supplemented by a virtual market website for online shopping. This way we can host a much larger number of vendors than we can physically fit in the building. By shopping at the online market, you’ll be able to access a greater variety of products, avoid lineups and have a contact-less pick up if you so choose.

Farmers & small local food businesses have been strongly impacted by the economic effects of Covid-19. Winter is a challenging season for their businesses even in the best of years. Either way you choose to shop, in person or online, your continued support and business will be vital to them this season!

We are now in the final phases of realizing this plan & creating the virtual market website. We will have the complete details ready to share next week.
